Day 2...On the Road

Day 2…Custer Camp

Day 2...Mr. Bob Kantner

Have you ever stubbed your toe in the middle of the night?  That’s how my whole body feels right now, 135 miles and we are  in Lemmon, South Dakota, a day ahead of schedule.  On the whole, I feel pretty good.  I trained hard for this, so I’m going to be ok, but nothing I did prepared me for these hills.

Bob is doing good too, the air conditioning in the truck was a little too cold for him today, but he’s ok now and has recovered nicely.  He just needs a good nights rest.LOL

This TREK bike is great!!!  Kudos to them and Skip at Rockford Bicycle Company on Perryville Road.  It has performed flawlessly and get compliments whenever we stop.  We met a teachers wife, Kim from Wisconsin and are now big fans of Burpee, Hi Kim!  We also met Bootsy the Bull Hauler who has actually been to Rockford and we are meeting him later for a coke.

We miss all our friends in Rockford already but know this great adventure is good for our community and Burpee.  Urge all your friends to check out burpee.org and pledge.  See you on the 27th.
