Day 15 Mankato, Minn

By Alan Brown, August 15, 2011 3:37 pm

Thank God for the road shoulder!

600 miles at Mankato, MN

Wow, 605 miles at Mankato, into a stiff wind and where did those hills come from.  This Trek bike is awesome and again thanks to Ship and Trek at Rockford Bicycle Company on Perryville Road for donating the bike.

There is a term in racing of “hitting the wall” and while I don’t think I’m there yet I can sure see it from here.  I had a friend text me this morning after hearing me on Aaron and Andy, Ch 23 and said I sounded “exhausted”.  Well maybe a little, but doing ok, very sore today for some reason, but looking forward to getting back on the road tomorrow.  Look for Aaron on Friday to join me live on 23, should be fun as we drop down into Iowa that day.

Don’t forget Ice Age this Friday night at Davis Park.

Good job Alan, 60% there. Look forward to seeing you and Aaron live Friday morning for the ride along. By the way, I have started a pool on how much weight you will loose. I believe your doctor said you would loose between 20 and 25 pounds. The pool is random, there are 100 squares, $5 per square…similar to a football pool. Details to follow…

No pain no gain should be your mantra now, you have the most of this behind you!
    Besides, you like it!

Then I should be gaining a lot. Looking forward to home, friends, Rockford and Wired Cafe
